Radius Networks, a leading provider of location technology, is looking for a User Interface/User Experience Designer to join a rapidly-growing team. The UI/UX Designer will design and shape our Flybuy software product suite, and report to the Vice President of Marketing. This position is highly collaborative and will work closely with stakeholders across the company including our product, engineering, and leadership teams. We are seeking a full-time employee based in Washington, DC, although we are open to remote candidates.
The ideal candidate will be both creative and organized, and have an eye for clean and artful design. They should have superior UI skills and be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces. Additionally, they will be responsible for designing web and mobile app elements that optimize user interaction and experience, creating wireframes, storyboards, and conceptual models for testing and building with the ultimate goal of translating any given user-experience journey into a smooth and intuitive interaction.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
- Collaborate on scenarios, end-to-end experiences, and screen designs
- Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
- Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
- Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions
- Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
- Conduct user testing of applications, software, and websites
- Create and implement interaction models and user interface specifications
- Create, improve and use wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows, and effectively communicate your interaction ideas using any of these methods
- Define visual elements, product elements, and overall design
- Design mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces
Qualifications
- Bachelors in Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Arts or similar
- 2+ years previous experience UI/UX design for applications, websites, and mobile experiences
- Strong portfolio showing breadth of design work
- Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
- Flexible, adaptable, proactive, and self-motivated with ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Clearly and effectively communicates design processes, ideas, and solutions
- Exceptional skills in ideation, sketching, concepting, brainstorming, and UI asset production
- Fluency with design tools, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, OmniGraffle, Invision, and/or other prototyping software
- Works effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete designs
- Iterates designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently
- Experience designing solutions across multiple platforms (desktop, tablet, mobile, etc.)
- Introductory knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
